Sorry. This was never "alternative" to me. This is what rock music was always supposed to be.

When listening to the crap on the radio nowadays, it is hard to believe that mainstream music could have ever been so real and natural. Maybe it is purely a matter of nostalgia, but it is so hard for me to find new music that actually touches me on a personal level. I always have to go back to the old stuff for that, whether it is the 90's, 80's, 70's, or 60's. And I am still in my 20's, so it's not like I'm some old man yearning for the good old days.

Creative people are often times very vulnerable, sensitive souls that easily go into extremes. That combined with fame, money and a drug addiction can have a fatal result, sadly as in the case of Chris. I know from experience that it is hard to live with the darkness, but suicide is simply not the way... One has to find the positive in his life and hold on to it...

''Fell On Black Days is the feeling of waking up one day and realizing you’re not happy with your life. Nothing happened, there was no emergency, no accident, you don’t know what happened. You were happy, and one day you just aren’t, and you have to try to figure that out''.

The go-to era for truly great rock n roll has always been the late 60's/early 70's. But I think the 90's (especially the first half) is beginning to receive the reverence it deserves. Yeah, rock in that decade was darker and more depressing, but the sheer number of excellent, finely-crafted rock songs - such as this one - can't be denied.

Thank you God for giving us Chris Cornell! His music and lyrical gifts were/are a blessing from You, our Heavenly Father. I guess Heaven needed his amazing singing talent more than us, though I wish that weren't so! Gone too soon

If you're feeling down about Chris Cornell's death, don't.

Think of it this way: Out of all the people that have lived, you managed to exist at the same time as Chris Cornell.

It only takes a minute to end your self and if you are emotionally deep, those minutes come often. Be kind to each other.

I read the comments, and i see that Chris had a helpful impact on so many people. People going through the same thing. Shows how powerful music can be, and that everyone is the same, relatable... and simply, no less or more human than everyone else. There is always a silver lining.

Darkness always haunts the creative, the gifted, the genius; the darkness seems to be the price that must be paid for being born special...
Rest in peace, brother. You were and will remain one of the greatest voices, greatest writers, greatest musicians of our generation and you'll remain one of the greatest for generations to come.

Unless you have depression or have ever suffered from it you could never understand. The black dog. I'd do anything to be free of it. I'll always love you, Chris.

I am 14 so I didn't even grow up with bands like Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains (with AIC being my favourite). No one even introduced them to me but I have grown to really appreciate grunge/rock style music. It is really sad that we had to lose the legend that was Chris Cornell. Rest in Peace, buddy, along with Staley and Weiland.

You helped many of us through hard times, we played your music as we partied, drove down the street, and hung with friends. We will continue to play your music and think of you and your band mates in Soundgarden.

I will remember this day for the rest of my life. This is one of the saddest days of my life. A black cloud has hung over me since I woke this morning. Chris was one of my greatest influences. His music pulled me through some very difficult times. I feel he saved me in a way. Kind of ironic. Why Chris? What was so bad in your life that you felt it needed to end? Could your wife and children not have helped you through this difficult time? I feel I've lost a small part of myself today. You will be missed Chris. R.I.P. I hope the Sun guides you safely on your journey. Good bye friend.

Still here.. Still loving it.. I blame my brothers for liking this music so much.. Everyday I had to listen to my brothers rooms playing these songs.. Driving in cars filled with CD's of this music... And now I love almost every single song they made.. :P
